Tough time finding a reference for this and I wasn’t sure what to expect when I listened to it, but hey, it had “West Coast” right in the title! I can see why none of these songs became hits. They’re all good, but not particularly catchy. It’s a lot like the Dwayne Ford album from 1980 in that way. I have to say though that “Face in the Crowd” might be one of the best westcoast epics I’ve ever heard, and that’s saying something. (by warrian)

Wilton Felder (bass), Becky Hobbs (pinao), Mike Baird (drums), Hal Blaine (drums), Leland Sklar (bass), Mike Melvoine (piano), Lee Ritenour (guitar), Mike Porcaro (bass), Steve Lukather (guitar), Jai Winding (organ), David Foster (piano), Kim Fowley  (prod)

Track 4, ‘On my own’, cuts out early – I’ve got two copies of this lp & the same thing happens on both of them, no idea why. (by avicenne)

This record was in perfect condition and you can really hear it in the rip.

Another country cross-over attempt but unlike Randy Sharp who is a real honky-tonk artist when he wants to be, Miller is more of a singer-songwriter in the vain of Jackson Browne (at the time) etc., whose music is a hybrid of country, folk and pop. I believe this is David Foster’s first job as a producer. (by warrian)

I am interested in his 2nd album too.

Shared by warrian    Thanks,  My files have been upgraded!

This is not my rip. I took and existing rip that was very clipped and brought it down to make it more listenable (I export at 320 but this was actually from a 192 source).      I ran click-removal on it and fixed the beginning and ending of each track, restored the original track names and here you have it. Some good tunes. (by warrian)

The vinyl was pristine and this is probably the cleanest rip I’ve done to date.

Randy Sharp was a big-time seventies country star who was trying to have a pop crossover hit with this album (confusingly his second titled “First in Line”). It pretty much works as he and his cast of usual westcoast suspects get the right feel down but “First in Line” lacks that one song that needs to hit the singles charts for this kind of experiment to really be considered a success. It probably doesn’t help that the few times he’s actually doing country on here is were he really sounds at home. (by warrian)
